One-sided dining tables are definitely tricky to execute because it's not much fun eating while facing a wall. But they are perfect for a small galley space or hallway set up. This rustic-style dining area shows how it can be done well. The most important elements here are the antique mirrors.
Moldings and trim paint colors can make a big difference in creating a formal dining space. White-painted baseboards, crown moldings, and mantels add a traditional vibe when paired with color, such as in the Louisville, Kentucky, dining room architect Joel Barkley and designer Todd Klein renovated for clients. The space features soft pink walls, crisp trim, and a glossy white ceiling—a trick Klein picked up from Albert Hadley.
