When we think about usable space, we tend to focus on floor space. However, if the ceilings are not too low – think vertical and take advantage of available wall space for storage. Try a well-placed bookshelf or a group of staggered open shelves on the wall. Mix in a few decorative objects to make it an interesting as well useful addition to your living room.
A living room can be expanded by being linked to an adjacent balcony, provided that space is protected and not open. The wall between them can be removed, allowing light to freely flow through and adding more floor space. That strategy can work for a small living room like this one.
An accent wall is a fantastic and easy update that you can do yourself. However, you want to be careful how you do it – too much pattern or color can be distracting. Choose one wall to be the focal point of your room. Add a paint color or wallpaper to create your accent wall. In this living room we used a deep burgundy red paint color to energize the room without overwhelming it.
Nature-inspired interior designs are always inspiring and interesting. Finding inspiration in nature may seem like a simple task but things are more complicated than they seem. One can choose to include a variety of plants in the living room in order to get that look.
